Daniela Ruah presents International Portuguese Music Awards

The International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA) are scheduled for April 25 in New Bedford and will be presented by actress Daniela Ruah, one of the co-hosts of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, seen by around 186 million according to official data.

Daniela Ruah obtained international recognition as an actress in the role of police officer Kensi Blye, in the series “NCIS: Los Angeles”.

The IPMA awards highlight Portuguese-speaking or Portuguese-speaking musicians, residents of any country. The nominees were the most voted by the public since December, in each of the categories.

This year, the nominees are mostly from Portugal, USA and Canada. There are also competitors from France, the Netherlands, Brazil, South Africa and Malaysia.

The nominees will be awarded in the categories of best music video, instrumental song, international, traditional, popular, fado, dance, rap or hip-hop, rock and pop.

In the song of the year, the songwriters presented by Nikita Afonso (Canada), Lyia Meta (Malaysia), Cristóvam (Portugal) and Dan Tibério (France) are named.

The new talent will also be chosen, between João Moniz and Capapparda, both from Portugal, who will have to sing at the gala and will be evaluated by professionals in the music industry.

The IPMAs already have confirmation of the performance of Aurea, Camané, Dino d’Santiago, Eratoxica, GNR, Miguel Gameiro and Starlight.

The event will take place on April 25, at the Zeiterion Theater, in New Bedford, at 6:30 pm local time (11:30 pm in Lisbon).
