After releasing an excerpt of the song before Christmas, singer-songwriter Dean Lewis kicks off the new year with the release of his new single, “Memories”.
Co-produced by Dean with Jon Hume and written by the duo, “Memories” was written and produced in Los Angeles and Nashville and is another single from the artist’s third studio album.
Fans of Dean Lewis will also be thrilled to hear that the artist has been announced as a special guest at British singer James Arthur’s UK and Ireland concerts in March.
Emotive and moving, “Memories” is what Dean does best: relating to listeners through moving, articulate lyrics and honed melodies. Releasing a 30-second pre-teaser of the song to his fans on social media led to 26,000 posts created in just a few weeks.
Dean said of the song: “At the end of last year, I finished the tour and had a little moment to breathe and reflect… and during that time… I wrote ‘Memories’. This song describes the end of my relationship with my closest friend of 3 years. I felt so isolated when I couldn’t just pick up the phone and talk to her. I just wanted to hear her voice, but it’s also a matter of being grateful for all the moments we shared. As a songwriter, I feel like it’s one of those songs that comes along every couple of years… I felt like the chorus slowed down the world when I first heard it.”
2023 has proven to be another excellent year for Dean. He gave more than 100 concerts as part of the “Future Is Bright” world tour, including his first concert in China. His songs have accumulated more than 2.3 billion streams.
“Memories” arrives at a time when Dean’s previous single “Trust Me Mate” has racked up over 36 million streams worldwide. Dean’s highly anticipated third studio album is set to be released worldwide in 2024. “Memories” is the third single taken from the upcoming album with the singles “Trust Me Mate” and “In A Perfect World” feat. Julia Michaels was also included in the LP.
