Deck by Loivos 475: a luxurious terrace with majestic views of the Douro River
This pop-up space combines chef Vítor Adão’s gastronomic creations with wine curation, exquisite décor, and a unique landscape.
DECK by Loivos 475, a new wine and food pop-up space, opened in late summer 2025, bringing a unique experience to the Douro region, combining gastronomy, wine, refinement, and an incomparable landscape, at an altitude of 475 meters.
Located under the Casal de Loivos viewpoint in the municipality of Alijó, DECK presents a gastronomic concept by chef Vítor Adão, who challenges himself to revisit regional products and traditions in contemporary, light bites and snacks designed for sharing, inspired by wine curation and the majestic views of the terraces and the river.
The ephemeral space was designed to elevate the experience of observing and tasting the Douro. It will be open until December 10th, from Tuesday to Sunday, and serves as an aperitif for the future “tasting room” Loivos 475, to be opened in 2026, a project designed by the company SOLO MAIOR.
Until then, the luxurious terrace will treat visitors to creations by chef Vítor Adão and a menu featuring wines, sparkling wines, and Port from local producers, along with wine cocktails and craft beer from the Douro region.
Sunday sunsets with music and tastings with commentary from partner producers are some of the added attractions in the space’s programming, which has a capacity for 35 people, favouring an intimate and exclusive experience.
“DECK is an unexpected place in the Douro. It’s a meeting point between what you see and what you feel, where the territory inspires every dish and every glass,” emphasises chef Vítor Adão, who masterfully rose to the challenge of creating sandwiches, salads, snacks, and desserts to pair with the wine experience amidst this world-renowned landscape.
As the first visible phase of the project, DECK will remain as the future terrace of Loivos 475, a “tasting room” at an altitude of 475 meters where “wine, art, and landscape will be part of a single gesture,” combining tradition and contemporary styles for unforgettable wine and gastronomic experiences.
“The Loivos 475 brand was born to be a benchmark, capable of creating unique experiences that combine wine, gastronomy, and landscape. DECK is its first expression,” emphasises the management of SOLO MAIOR, a new tourism and wine tourism company that, inspired by an eclectic group of renowned professionals, aims to combine contemporary sophistication with the most authentic traditions.
