The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) organized and celebrated the 46th edition of the Festa do Avante, from the 2nd to the 4th of September
The Festa do Avante! is a political-cultural event organized by the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), the largest and the first event of its kind held in Portugal since 1976, which has been held since 1990 at Quinta da Atalaia, in Seixal.
This year marks the centenary of the birth of the Portuguese Nobel Prize in Literature and former communist militant, José Saramago, is one of the highlights of this year’s Festa do Avante. “Music in the Word of Saramago”.
As usual the Festa do Avante! featured a diverse cultural program full of music, theatre, sports, cinema, debates, exhibitions, book and disco fairs, and much more, with spaces for the whole family and for all ages.
On the musical lineup were names like Carminho, Mão Morta, LEFTY, Dino D’ Santiago, Carmen Souza, Fogo Fogo, Marta Ren, Bia Ferreira, Paulo Bragança, Mão Verde II, Jonas, Terminal Band, Júlio Resende, Domenico Lancellotti, Les Frères Smith, Emílio Moret with Vitorino Salomé, Pongo, Scúru Fitchádu, Another Level Squad, Rawhide with André Dal, and Carlos Leitão.
