Delfins are a Portuguese pop-rock band, originally from Cascais. Formed in 1981, the band had its last concert on December 31, 2009, but returned to the stage 10 years later, on August 25, 2019, on the occasion of a special concert invited by the Cascais Symphony Orchestra and CMC, in tribute to the group on the last day of the Festival das Festas do Mar in Cascais. Subsequently, Delfins reunited again in 2020/21 for the 35th anniversary “Celebration” tour.

The Delfins‘ original lineup included Fernando Cunha (guitar and vocals), João Carlos (bass) and Silvestre (keyboards). Later, Miguel Ângelo (voice) and Pedro Molkow (drums) joined the group. Over the years, other musicians were also part of the band, such as Maria Leon, Carlos Maria Trindade, Nicole Eitner, Nuno Canavarro and Sandra Fidalgo.

Delfins‘ first single, titled “Letras”, was released by Fundação Atlântica. In 1985, the group participated in the Festival RTP da Canção with the song “A Casa da Praia”. Although they came in last place in the classification, their participation generated interest and distrust in the press. The band continued to record, and in 1986, with the production of Heróis do Mar keyboardist Carlos Maria Trindade, they released their first album.

The first part was performed by Duque Província, Henrique Gonçalves (voice, guitar), António Horgan (keyboards), Philippe Keil (bass) and Francisco Cunha (drums), who made their debut on the most important national stage, overflowing with joy, and natural nervousness, but they didn’t let that stop them from making an excellent opening for the Delfins‘ fantastic concert.
