Single that was born in Lisbon and has Portuguese composers was released worldwide this Friday.
“Desce Aqui (Down in LA)” is a song that was born international. It was composed at Panela Rec studios, in Portugal, has Portuguese composers, went through the United States with the voice of Bobby Berk, star of the reality show “Queer Eye”, and arrived in Brazil through a partnership with Rebecca. This was all put together by Tiago Carlotto, a former Brazilian model, who lives in Los Angeles and bets his chips on the single that hits the platforms this August 5th. The production and launch are in charge of Panela Rec Latin.
The song was made at Panela Rec’s Writing Camp in Lisbon and has four Portuguese composers. They are Maria Barreto, Daus, Guerra and Jonatan Haller, in addition to singers Bobby Berk and Tiago Carlotto. The Norwegian team is completed by Andrea Kristiansen and the Brazilians Umberto Tavares and Jefferson Junior.
“This song has a very special energy. Since it appeared in Lisbon, we knew that there was something potent there. I am very happy that, at this point in my career, I can show such consistent work to the public. I want to see my music winning people over, bringing a good vibe to their lives. And I see that “Down here” has that potential,” said Tiago.
The excitement with the song made Tiago invite the “Queer Eye” star to participate. Bobby and Tiago Carlotto have been friends for six years and have a start to their careers with many similarities. Both started singing in church choirs and were part of bands, until life took each one to one side: while Tiago, after working as a model, invested heavily in music, Bobby entered the casting of a Netflix reality show, which is a worldwide success and has already won nine Emmys.
“Bobby’s first professional participation in music was with me. In 2019, I invited him to record ‘Everybody’. It didn’t get to be a big production, like ‘Down here, but it was successful. At Pride in New York, the Netflix car rang about 180 times,” recalled Tiago, adding that later his friend was a semi-finalist on “The Masked Singer”.
“‘Desce Aqui’ is so fun, tasty and energetic. I hope to perform alongside Tiago and Rebecca very soon!” said Bobby Berk.
More recently, Tiago met – and fell in love with – Rebecca, one of the highlights of this year’s Rock In Rio Lisboa.
“What Rebecca does for funk is amazing. Also, she is always involved with minority causes and I think that is very important. She is beautiful, dances like hell and is still an activist. I am very happy to partner with her.”

Tiago Stanfield Carlotto is a Brazilian singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles. His first memories are of singing in the local evangelical church since he was 5 years old in Esteio, Rio Grande do Sul. The singer moved to California in 2014, moving from Gospel to Pop; from Portuguese to English; and at the end of 2016, after a long process of learning the new language, he returned to composing.
