“Despedida de Casados” returns in March to Casino Estoril

The comedy “Despedida de Casados” is back at Casino Estoril for a new series of six shows.

After the huge success recorded recently, actors Mafalda Teixeira and Kapinha return to the Auditorium on the 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st of March, at 9:30 pm. Text by Luís Filipe Borges and directed by Ricardo Castro.

Leila and Kiko have been a couple together for too long, or at least it seems that way… Very young parents, with a daughter who has just turned 18, they have long since fallen into a fatal routine and fights over “give me that straw”. They then decide to give their relationship an ultimatum: try one last adventure to rekindle the flame over a whole weekend for the two of them, locked up in one of those suburban motels – with only each other’s company… and a past full of accumulated frustrations.

Leila is a lawyer who wants to be an influencer, and Kiko is a Physical Education teacher who despises social media. She brings sex toys, provocative lingerie and a little drug to make you go crazy; he contributes an arsenal of fantasies to be fulfilled, the fear of being intellectually inferior to his wife, and doubts about her past that he was never able – or had the courage – to clarify.

Together in the confined space of those four erotic walls, with mirrors and rods, a round bed and private compartments, breaking the 4th wall from time to time to share unspeakable feelings with the audience, Leila and Kiko take the audience on an intense journey that will go from role-playing to ménage, from the empty nest to the free pass, from swinging to a midlife crisis, from cell phone passwords to doubts about a happy ending.

Do they really end things once and for all or is it still worth fighting for love when the passion is already behind us?
