The contest themes can be heard on the Festival da Canção YouTube channel.
In the first semifinal, which will be broadcast live tonight on RTP1, from the studios in Lisbon, they will compete, in order of presentation: ‘Love in on my side’ (Tatanka/The Black Mamba), ‘Na mais profunda saudade’ (Hélder Moutinho/Valéria), ‘Claro como Água’ (Stereossauro/Mema.), ‘Cheguei Aqui’ (Anne Victorino D’Almeida/Nadine), ‘Girassol‘ (Marôco), ‘Dia Lindo’ (Fábia Maia), ‘Livros‘ (Irma), ‘Saudade‘ (Karetus/Karetus and Romeu Bairos), ‘Contramão‘ (Filipe Melo/Sara Afonso) and ‘Mundo‘ (Ian)
Of these songs, five will be chosen for the final, scheduled for March 6, and which, unlike previous years, will happen in the studio and without an audience, due to the covid-19 pandemic.
In the second semifinal, scheduled for February 27, also at RTP studios in Lisbon, another ten songs compete. On that day, the remaining five themes will be chosen to compete in the final.
In the semifinals, the weight of the votes will be shared between viewers and a jury whose members – singers Marta Carvalho, NBC, Paulo de Carvalho, and Rita Guerra, photographer Rita Carmo, and broadcaster Vanessa Augusto – were chosen by RTP.
In the final, the jury’s votes will be made by representatives from seven regions of mainland Portugal and islands. In case of a tie, in the semifinals the choice of the jury prevails and, in the final, that of the public.
