The Corroios festivities are taking place, after the mandatory stop because of Covid, they are back, grand as usual, full of points of interest and excellent concerts.
The parties started on the 18th, with Stereossauro, but they already had the XXXVI Folklore Festival of Corroios, Fogo Fogo, Augusto Canário and yesterday the star was Diana Vilarinho, who sang at home, and confessed to having been to this party many times, to see artists that I admired and that it is an honor now to be stepping on that same stage.
Diana took fado to the main stage of the Urban Park of Quinta da Marialva in Corroios, for an audience, which, despite not being much, applauded her from the first to the last theme.
The fado singer soon wanted to sing, at age 7, she started in popular songs, at 9, start singing fado, at 15 she was already resident in a Fado House, and at 18, she traveled to India to do volunteer work.
Awarded at the Grande Noite do Fado, she performed at the Caixa Alfama Festival, or with the new name, Santa Casa Alfama, and held concerts in Spain, Germany, and Austria, Diana Vilarinho, now 24 years old, continues to trace her path in music and specifically in fado, with great firmness and enchanting whoever listens to it, whether in concert halls, parties or in the most emblematic Fado Houses in Lisbon.
Her first album, released in October 2021 by Sony Music, with a repertoire she chose with her producer, fado singer Ricardo Ribeiro, also features a song written and composed by Carminho.
Before Diana took the stage, ASSTAS’s Grupo Coral Alentejano was present, made up of former employees of Seixal’s municipal services, who took the Alentejo “cante” to the Carlos Paredes stage. But the Corroios festivities have two more stages and yesterday it was the turn of Dance Conviction, Dance School on the Liberdade Stage and the Infinito Duo on the Arraial Stage.
