Denmark trashes Russia (4-1)
Denmark beat Russia (4-1), in the third and final round of Group B of the European Championship. It was the Nordics’ first victory in the competition.
Mikkel Damsgaard (38’), Yussuf Poulsen (59’), Andreas Christensen (79’) and Joakim Maehle (82’) gave expression to the Danish rout in Copenhagen. Dzyuba (70’) scored the Russian goal of honor with a penalty.
With this result, Denmark ensured the passage to the round of 16, in second place, with three points. A positive goal difference (1) helped the Nordics overcome Finland (-2) and Russia (-5), who also had three points.
