Diogo Zambujo has just shared with the world his debut single “O Mundo Sou Eu”, composed and written by himself. The song is now available on digital platforms and comes out under the Universal Music Portugal label, with whom the artist recently signed. Singer-songwriter, born in Beja, and whose nickname immediately reveals his musical heritage, Diogo Zambujo debuts under his name after having released a song of his own, “Escutando O Universo”, performed with António Zambujo.
“O Mundo Sou Eu”, a beautiful song produced by André Santos, was released in anticipation of the premiere of César Mourão’s film, “Podia Ter Esperado Por Agosto”, which hits cinemas next Thursday, July 18th, and where the song gains prominence as the main character since it is the film’s song. In the feature film, starring Júlia Palha and César Mourão, “O Mundo Sou Eu” follows the main character, Xavier (César Mourão), a boy from the village who falls in love with Laura (Júlia Palha), his neighbour.
Diogo Zambujo was born in Beja in 1998. Music has always been part of his life, first because of his uncle and only later because of his father, António Zambujo. He entered through the rock door, listening to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc…. Later, he discovered jazz and Brazilian music. At the age of 17, he moved to Lisbon to study social communication, to combine music with communication. From that point on, he started writing his songs, which the pandemic helped to express. This courage allowed him to participate in some of his father’s concerts, where he had the privilege of sharing an original of his own, “Escutando o Universo”.
After a few years on the communications course, he chose to improve his musical knowledge and decided to study at the hot club. Recently Diogo Zambujo decided to focus on the original composition and went to the studio to record and produce some songs, in a minimal style with a focus on simple melodies and sincere lyrics, where the arrangements are only essential. From this work, his first single “O Mundo Sou Eu” was born, produced by André Santos, and is part of the soundtrack of the film directed and starred by César Mourão, “Podia Ter Esperado Por Agosto”, the film’s official song.
