Disney+ arrives in eight more European countries

The “Direct-to-Consumer & International” segment of The Walt Disney Company, chose September 15 as the launch date for the Disney+ service in eight Western and Northern European markets.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he streaming service will be launched in Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Belgium and Luxembourg simultaneously, on September 15th. The price for Portugal was also confirmed, € 6.99 per month or € 69.99 for the annual subscription.

Disney + offers fans of all ages a new way to experience the unique content of the company’s iconic entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, as well as original and exclusive content, including films, series, documentaries and short films created exclusively for the service.

At launch, subscribers will have access to “The Mandalorian”, a critically acclaimed series by screenwriter and executive producer Jon Favreau; the “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”, a creative and current approach to this successful saga, with a modern documentary style and a soundtrack composed of nine new original songs, in addition to paying homage to the classic themes of the film; “The World According to Jeff Goldblum”, which explores the wonderful and often surprising world of deceptively familiar objects; and “Togo”, a film about two of the main figures of the “Nome Serum Race” in 1925, the Norwegian Leonhard Seppala and his dog Togo.

Among many other original titles available at launch are: “Encore!”, With Kristen Bell as executive producer;  “Diary of a Future President, created and produced by Ilana Peña (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”) and with Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin”) as executive producer, as well as “The History of Imagineering” a documentary series that gives to discover the extraordinary work of the creative group that brings Disney parks to life.

From the day of launch, subscribers will be able to enjoy the Disney+ experience on most mobile devices and smart TVs, computers, game consoles and streaming devices. They will have access to high-quality content, without ads, that they will be able to see on up to four screens simultaneously, unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices, personalized recommendations and with the possibility of creating seven different user profiles. The service also includes the possibility for parents to define children’s profiles, with even simpler menus, so that children can navigate intuitively and have access to content appropriate for their age group.
