- Human mobility, the international student and the teacher abroad will be some of the topics under discussion in a joint initiative of the Piaget Institute and the Brazilian University Ceuma.
“Distance learning and internationalization of education” is the theme of the webinar that the Piaget Institute promotes this Wednesday, June 17th, at 9 pm (5 pm in Brazil), in partnership with the Ceuma university, in the Brazilian state of Maranhão, in an initiative that promises to unite the two sides of the Atlantic on a common theme.
Distance learning has gained increased visibility in the context of emergency and social isolation imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. More or less adjusted to the nature of this teaching typology, students and teachers plunged into the online space to fulfil their tasks, getting involved in a series of new challenges, demands and opportunities, which they had never imagined as possible.
For those responsible for the Post-Graduation in Clinical and Health Psychology at the Piaget Institute of Viseu, one of the co-organizers of the event, the webinar will seek to open new perspectives to the internationalization of teaching through distance learning. Human mobility, the international student and the teacher abroad will be some of the topics under debate, starting from Portugal and Brazil at the same time.
The event will be attended by two former students from the Piaget Institute of Viseu, with recognized academic training and professional experience: Cândida Alves, graduated in Psychology from the Piaget Institute of Viseu, a doctorate in Neuropsychology from the University of Salamanca and postdoctoral in Mental Health by the Catholic University of Brasília and currently a professor at the Ceuma University, and Fernando Rodrigues, general director of Esprodouro, founder and CEO of Psicosoma and the ICN Agency. Moderation will be in charge of the president of the Viseu campus, Paulo Alves.
Headquartered in the city of São Luís, in northeastern Brazil, the Ceuma University is the only private higher education institution in the state of Maranhão, where it has four campuses (three in the capital São Luís and one in the city of Imperatriz). It offers courses in classroom and distance learning, having recently signed a cooperation protocol with the Piaget Institute.
