The winners of the Portugal Digital Awards® were announced, a joint initiative by Axians and IDC, which for the 7th consecutive year recognizes and rewards the excellence of organizations and their teams that lead to the digital transformation of their businesses.

The projects presented were integrated into categories by type of transformation, market segment, and by special categories. In the Digital Grand Awards category, the highlight goes to Best Digital Leader, Rear Admiral Gameiro Marques, General Director of the National Security Office, the personality who distinguished himself in the digital transformation in the national territory.

This year’s edition received around 300 applications and had 42 finalist projects that were certified and analyzed by a panel of seventeen judges and eight observers.

It’s fantastic to see the evolution of the more than 1500 applications received in these seven years of Portugal Digital Awards®. Increasingly sophisticated projects, using disruptive technologies have been transforming the way organizations operate, work, and relate to customers and consumers, even in the way they develop new products and services that are increasingly connected. Despite the delicate economic and geopolitical context, IDC believes that digital will continue to play an increasingly important role in the competitiveness of organizations and nations in the coming years, and it is in this context that IDC foresees that, in concrete terms, investment in Digital Transformation will grow more than 16% in 2023 in Portugal.” says Gabriel Coimbra, Group Vice President and Country Manager at IDC Portugal.

Carmo Palma, Managing Director at Axians Portugal, says that “it is very gratifying to get to know the various digital transformation projects that are being implemented in Portugal. And it is a challenge for the Jury to elect the winners, based on the merit that all finalist projects present. There are projects that stand out more for their innovative characters, such as the use of drones to carry out certain tasks, thus achieving productivity gains and risk reduction for the people responsible for these processes. There are projects that stand out for the enormous positive impact they bring to citizens, or end customers, or employees. This initiative is very relevant in the area because it recognizes and publicizes the digital transformation that is taking place in Portugal. The main objective of Axians is, through this initiative, to highlight organizations, leaders, and teams that are on the right path of differentiation.
