Documentary reveals the backstage of FUSHI’s debut album

The FUSHI, a trio from Lisbon who just released their debut album, now present a documentary that explores the behind-the-scenes process of creating and recording this work.

Conducted by Adriana Melo, with sound by Sérgio Valmont, the recording transports the public to the creative core of the band of André Fernandes, Sara Badalo and Alexandre Frazão, showing the moments of conception and the dynamics that defined the album.

Recorded at Timbuktu Studios and released by Timbuktu Records, FUSHI’s debut album is a fusion of electronics, rock and jazz that challenges conventions and proposes new horizons for Portuguese music.

The documentary offers an in-depth view of how this diversity of influences materialized in an album that goes from contemplative, as in “Ninguém Parece Sentir”, to energetic, on themes such as “Dose Pura” and “Incerto”. Each track is a journey, and the film captures the moments of the construction of these soundscapes, from the first chords to the final recording, underlining the constant search for balance between intimacy and intensity.

Through the eyes of Adriana Melo, the audience is invited to witness the unique interaction between FUSHI members in a process that combines refined technique, sound experimentation and a collective vision. The documentary not only accompanies the recording sessions but also delves into the ideas and emotions that shaped the album, reinforcing the link between the musicians and the concept explored on the record.

Available online, this documentary is more than a behind-the-scenes account: it is a complementary piece to the work of FUSHI, broadening the understanding of what lies behind the compositions that marked the group’s debut.
