Two iconic spaces in the capital with free guided tours

As part of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, which is celebrated on April 18, Amoreiras 360° Panoramic View and the Water Museum – Mãe d’Água Reservoir of Amoreiras will carry out joint free visits to both spaces.

Under the motto “Heritage and Change”, with the aim of raising awareness of the diversity and vulnerability of heritage, as well as the need for its protection and enhancement, this date aims to spark a reflection on how to safeguard and protect sites, landscapes, and monuments. A heritage that should be understood as an agent of union, sharing, citizenship, and the will for the future.

Throughout the day, Amoreiras 360º Panoramic View will have its doors open to receive anyone who wants to visit it, which is the highest point in the capital.

For those who just want to visit the Amoreiras 360º Panoramic View, access can be made between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm. With no registration required, visitors should go to the Information Desk, inside the Amoreiras Shopping Center (1st floor, next to Fnac), and pick up their ticket.

With a breathtaking view, the well-known viewpoint at Amoreiras Shopping Center challenges visitors to explore the place and to adopt, in the future, sustainable measures to protect the monuments and historical marks that dignify our country.

The Padrão dos Descobrimentos, the Palácio Real da Ajuda, Cristo Rei, the 25 de Abril and Vasco da Gama bridges, the Belém Palace, the Jerónimos Monastery, the São Jorge Castle and the Água Livres Aqueduct, are some of the several emblematic points of the city that can be seen from this viewpoint. To complement this memorable experience, free long-range spyglasses and informative maps on the historical points to be seen are distributed throughout the enclosure.

For those who prefer a guided tour, two joint visits will be organized to Amoreiras 360° Panoramic View and the Water Museum – Reservoir of Mãe d’Água das Amoreiras, at 4 pm and 7 pm, from where you can see the cultural heritage of Lisbon from panoramic shape.

At the Mãe d’Água Reservoir, subscribers will be able to visit its wide, bright, and unified space, its interior suggesting the floor plan of a Hall-style church. The water from the springs gushes from the mouth of a dolphin over a waterfall, built with stone transported from the springs of the Águas Livres Aqueduct, and converges to the 7.5-meter deep tank. From the tank emerge four columns that support a vaulted ceiling that, in turn, supports the magnificent panoramic terrace over the city of Lisbon.

Guided visits to both spaces take place at 4 pm and 7 pm, in groups of 25 people. Registration for these visits is mandatory and can be done by calling +351 218 100 215 or by emailing: mda.epal@adp.pt.

Always confirm with the concert hall or promoter the conditions of access, confirmation of the date or time, tickets place of sale, price, and availability.
