Douro41 Hotel & SPA welcomes Dan Riverman and SaraCruz in Concert

Festival dá Corda

The Dá Corda Festival continues on November 6th with Dan Riverman and Sara Cruz in the surrounding and serene Douro41 Hotel & Spa, in Castelo de Paiva.

The initiative, which debuted in July with a concert by the renowned jazz project Miguel Ângelo Quarteto, intends to reactivate two of the sectors most affected by the pandemic, Culture and Tourism. The objective is to revitalize tourism in areas of the country with less demand, showing the potential of each location, as well as the music sector, providing a stage for quality projects.

On November 6th, Festival Dá Corda presents concerts by Dan Riverman and Sara Cruz at Douro41 Hotel & Spa.

Dan Riverman is a Portuguese singer-songwriter known for songs that tell stories with an essence of feelings, illusions, love and disaffection, narrated by a unique and deep voice to the sound of a very characteristic style of his guitar. After several collaborations with great references in music such as Saul Davies (James), Davey Ray Moor (CousteauX) and Miguel Guedes (Blind Zero), Dan Riverman is working on the new album, scheduled for release in 2022.

Sara Cruz is a young revelation that comes to us from S. Miguel, Azores. This indie, folk and pop singer and songwriter has conquered the public overseas, having been considered “the greatest young talent in Portugal” in the New Talent NiT competition in 2019.

Also noteworthy is the collaboration between these two artists on the theme “Step Outside”, inspired by the return to “normality” after the pandemic and the importance of realizing that what really counts is love, family, friends and all the people who walk with us on this journey.

The Douro41 Hotel and Spa will be the perfect stage for these two special concerts: it is located at kilometre 41 of the Douro River from its mouth. The location where it is located and the architectural characteristics of its building amplify the connection to the surrounding landscape and escape from reality: the Hotel, built-in schist stone and glass, on a cliff system that extends almost to the river, was based on a series of environmental concerns and coherence with the environment – it was with their sustainability in mind that they planted a vegetable garden where they harvest aromatic herbs daily, or that they decided to have their own hives from which honey is extracted, which is the delight of some, for breakfast. The natural environment is a constant in Douro41. Whether indoors or outdoors, they are constantly being inundated by nature. This is one of the differentiating points of the Douro41 Hotel & Spa: a hotel that is an artistic piece in continuous dialogue with the river and the valley.

Just great ingredients to go to Castelo de Paiva for another date of the Dá Corda Festival.
