Downton Abbey Movie Debuts in September

After six seasons and several awards, the big-screen debut is already set: September 19th.

It’s coming next month, the 19th, that will premiere the movie of ‘Downton Abbey’ – an adaptation of the award-winning television series of the same name, “which accompanied the lives of the Crawley family and their employees at an English country house in turn of the twentieth century ”.

A royal visit from the King and Queen of England will unleash scandals, romance, and intrigue that will leave Downton’s future uncertain “is the premise of this drama that promises to entangle him in the history of the Crawley.

Over the six seasons, the series has garnered three Golden Globes and 15 Emmys out of 69 nominations, which made ‘Downton Abbey’ one of the ‘most-nominated series in Emmys history – earning a special BAFTA award and a place in the Guinness World Record for the top-rated TV series. ”

 

Oscar-winner (Best Original Screenplay, “Gosford Park”), Julian Fellowes, who created the series “Downton Abbey” and wrote the film’s script, “is also a producer, along with Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge.” The realization is in charge of Michael Engler.

The main cast will include Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode, Harry Hadden-Paton, Robert James-Collier, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Lesley Nicol, Penelope Wilton and Oscar winner Maggie Smith, joined by Oscar nominee Imelda Staunton, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips and Stephen Campbell Moore.
