Dream People took to the stage of Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon, to present their latest work “Almost Young

The band Dream People took the stage at Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon, on the 6th of July to present their latest work “Almost Young“, published last March and which has conquered the public and critics.

Around 9 pm, Francisco Taveira (vocals), Nuno Ribeiro (guitar, keys, and voice), Bernardo Sampaio (guitar, keys, and voice), João Garcia (bass, voice), and Diogo Teixeira de Abreu (drums) were received by a warm audience of Maria Matos kicking off her first full-length live concert with “To a God Unknown“, followed by “Talking of Love”, “Violent Show”, “Dreams to Dust” and “Suburban Lifestyle Dream“.

We want to invite you to join us in this trip a little different, through the world of dreams and strange things, nightmares, out there… Thank you for coming“, thanked Francisco. We also heard “Forever, Too Long”, “I Knew Everything About You”, “Almost Young”, “People Think” and, after a giant wave of applause, the band returned to the encore with “Putos de Portugal“.

This was the best show ever, thank you!“, thanked the band as they left the stage.

Despite their short career, Dream People have added solid steps and strong speed. The band formed in 2019 and quickly gained the attention of important festivals, having performed in that same year at Vodafone Paredes de Coura and at Super Bock em Stock, in Lisbon. The record debut takes place in the beginning of 2020 with the EP Soft Violence, considered one of the best Portuguese records of the year by the prestigious Spanish alternative blog Mindies.

The attention across borders remains in 2021. In March, Dream People represented Portugal at the ILMC – International Live Music Conference, one of the biggest music industry meetings in the world, alongside names such as Lina_Raül Refree and Surma. In May, they were selected for a showcase at one of the most important North American music conferences, the Canadian Music Week.

Stay tuned and don’t miss anything new from this great band that will certainly have a promising future in Portugal and in the world.
