On April 23, the band Drumond and The Soul Journey returns to the stage at Cine Incrível de Almada, with the single Weight in Gold.
After a slowdown in shows in times of a pandemic, the band brings together all 7 members, for the first time, in what is the show that starts the 2022 tour and which precedes the release of a new original single.
Drumond and The Soul Journey are a project founded by artist Rui Drumond, influenced by his own soul and jazz roots. ‘Weight in Gold‘ is the latest single from the band that is preparing to present a new original single soon.
The concert at Cine Incrível promises to take the audience on an authentic journey, full of groove and a lot of soul power, immersing them in an exciting, energetic and captivating musical experience.
“Drummond and The Soul Journey are the results of my dream and musical influences, as a person and an artist. This is the first type of music I remember listening to, it’s the one that influences me the most creatively, so I know that This is the way to go because it has to do with my passion for music, without giving in to the pressures of what is expected by others. Being on stage with Drumond and The Soul Journey is one of the things I enjoy the most, because of the musical style and the fantastic musicians that make up the band. Shortly after the beginning of this project, in 2019, we released the first single and we had concerts going on, but we were caught by the pandemic. Since then, we have played little for large audiences and that’s what we need and we want to do this year. We are full of determination, we will continue to enjoy the release of the single Weight in Gold, very soon we will release another original single, and we are working towards the release of our first EP“, explains Rui Drumond.
