About Duarte and “Come on Twenty More 2004-2024”
Over the years, we have become accustomed to admiring Duarte’s voice not only for its unique timbre or enormous expressiveness (spoken and theatrical, at times, with a very precise notion of what the verses require), but also for its conscious firmness and non-negotiable in singing poems that hurt and prick, that do not settle for loving abstractions or verses that do little more than rhyme to decorate songs that say nothing.
