The Almadense musician’s third album will be presented live in Porto and Lisbon during the month of June.
Hubris is E.se’s third feature film. While the name of the album means arrogance, it is above all a symbol of self-knowledge. In an album “darker” than its predecessor, Mangrove (2022), in Hubris E.se’s creative maturity is clear, increasingly comfortable in her fragility, addressing topics such as mental health, relational separations, loneliness and growth.
In the anticipated singles – “Gravito” and the album’s homonymous theme -, the musician and rapper from Almada already revealed what is consolidated in the album: E.se gives freedom to his emotions and obsessions to flow through the soundscapes that give them the context adequate. A mental journey that takes you to pop ambiences, contemporary jazz, R&B or electronic music. The result of this mix fits perfectly into a bold and characteristic hip-hop album, composed of 15 tracks where E.se, in addition to his writing and interpretation, also intervenes as a producer for the first time.
Production was handled by names such as Lunn, Minus & MrDolly, E.se, NED FLANGER and Mei Rose, with vocal collaborations by xtinto, L-ALI, Mei Rose, Minus & MrDolly and Matheus Paraízo and mixing and mastering by Beiro (except in the blind angle track by Pedro Borges). The album is published by Produções Hipotéticas.
The album will be presented live in Porto, at Maus Hábitos on June 14th and in Lisbon, at Musicbox on June 15th. On these dates, several of the guests who can hear in Hubris will be present.
