The Coimbra City Council opened to the public this weekend, in the gallery of the Coimbra Municipal Museum – Edifício Chiado, the painting exhibition “Fragrâncias”, by Josete Fernandes, which will be open until November 14, 2021.
An exhibition that focuses on fragrances that involve women in different moments of their daily lives, expressed through techniques, textures and colors that emphasize a variety of emotions. The exhibition is free to enter and can be visited from Tuesday to Friday, between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm; on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Closed on Mondays and holidays.
The fragrances that involve women in the various moments of their daily life is the theme of Josete Fernandes‘ exhibition, which is open to the public until the next 14th of November at the Chiado Building. The Portuguese artist Josete Fernandes used a variety of techniques, shapes, textures and an explosion of colors to show the diversity of emotions that these fragrances convey. The titles of the works are a half-open window, so that the viewer can be enchanted by each fragrance on his journey.
Josete Fernandes was born in France, in 1970, having returned at the age of four to her origins, the village of Cedães, in Mirandela. She decided early on in the artistic areas, having attended the Painting Course at the Superior Artistic School of Porto and, later, Plastic Arts at the University School of Arts in Coimbra. She completed her Master’s Degree in Visual Arts Teaching at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies of Lisbon. Josete Fernandes specializes in several areas: screen printing, engraving, lithography, analog photography and stained glass. The artist regularly exhibits in individual and collective exhibitions.
