Editora Pato Lógico nomeada para prémio da Feira do Livro de Bolonha
It is the second consecutive year that Pato Lógico is nominated for the so-called BOP award (Bologna Prize), which recognizes the best editorial projects for illustrated books and for children and youth, in different geographical areas.
In addition to Pato Lógico, Liels un Mazs (Latvia), Samokat Publishing House (Russia), La Joie de Lire (Switzerland) and Topipittori (Italy) are nominated for the award for best European publisher.
For the award for best publisher in Central and South America, the Brazilian Pallas Editora is nominated.
This award at the Bologna fair is not monetary, but the winners are chosen from peers by other publishers and associations that promote reading, conferring international recognition in the field of literature and illustration for the youngest.
The announcement of the winners will be made in June, during the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which this year returns to the online format, due to covid-19.
Pato Lógico, which had already been nominated for that award also in 2016, was founded a decade ago by the author and illustrator André Letria, and gathers more than 50 books in various formats, including illustrated album, harmonies and maps.
Among the authors already published are André da Loba, Afonso Cruz, Susa Monteiro, João Fazenda, Bernardo P. Carvalho, José Jorge Letria, António Torrado, Carla Maia de Almeida and Ricardo Henriques.
