EDP Foundation donates 3,000 computers to schools and students
The EDP Foundation will donate around 3,000 computers, worth a million euros, to schools and students in vulnerable situations.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he first electronic equipment, to support distance learning, will be delivered next week, at Escola Nº1 in Beja. The remaining computers, destined for students between 6 and 14 years old, will be distributed to the identified schools according to the availability of the suppliers.
The action takes place within the scope of the EDP Solidária Program, schools were signaled together with the Ministry of Education and are part of the TEIP Program – Educational Territories for Priority Intervention, being located in economically and socially disadvantaged territories, marked by poverty and social exclusion.
Created in 2004, the EDP Solidária Program aims to support projects that improve the quality of life of socially disadvantaged people and to promote the integration of communities at risk of social exclusion.
