Edu Monteiro is known for being one of the most outstanding pop music producers in Portugal. Through his hands were successful artists such as Fernando Daniel, Blaya or Virgul. In addition, he also produced for international artists such as Anitta, Pabllo Vittar or Cecília Krull, and was nominated for a Grammy. Since the beginning of this year, the producer decided to assume himself as an artist.
That same decision, to be an artist in his own name, was pondered and always in search of the perfect sound that… “a good thing (or not) about being a producer is the constant search for the perfect sound. But this search is always in vain because that such perfect sound will never exist. We always want better and better“, reveals Edu Monteiro.
The search for the perfect sound led Edu Monteiro to build his first EP with 6 songs, from which came the hit singles You and Love You Better (which is already number 1 in Tops on radio). An EP where all singles came out individually.
This EP became Edu Monteiro’s gateway to Rock in Rio 2022 on the Galp Music Valley stage. The artist plays on June 19th.
Edu Monteiro now makes his living in London, where he produces and composes for himself and for several other international artists.
