Eduardo Guerrero proposes “Sombra Efímera II” in a night of pure flamenco at Casino Estoril
November 22nd
With a multi-award-winning career, Eduardo Guerrero returns to Casino Estoril on November 22nd at 10 pm.
The Spanish dancer, born in Cádiz, takes to the Salão Preto e Prata stage to perform “Sombra Efímera II”. The new flamenco show deviates from conventional narrative structures, opting for a series of episodes that intertwine and capture, from the first minute, the public’s attention.
On a night of pure flamenco, “Sombra Efímera II” stands out for its multiple simultaneous scenic actions and impactful images. Explores new emotional territory, leaving fear behind and giving way to shapes, light and sound, rooted in flamenco as a primordial expression.
Segmenting layers of colours, from immaculate white to charcoal stains, the work evokes the past and present, addressing themes such as possession, love and death.
While a forgotten mountain of sand takes centre stage, the union of man with the earth is symbolized, highlighting the powerful image of a woman’s crowning of the mountain, defying convention.
Free sexuality and other complex messages are explored, inviting the viewer to discover deep layers of meaning. “Sombra Efímera II” is, therefore, a mirror of society, reflecting the evolution and challenges of the modern and historical world, instigating reflections on the path and change.
With a unique career, Eduardo Guerrero has received prestigious awards:
– Choreographic Competition Award Professional Dance Conservatories of Andalusia, for the choreography “May”, in 2011.
– Desplante Award at the Festival de las Minas de La Unión, in 2013.
– Awarded the title of Gaditano of the Year in 2016.
