Sensuality, Tension, War, Pain, Faith, and Life is what Eduardo Guerrero brought to the Salão Preto e Prata at Casino do Estoril, in his new show ‘O Retorno do Guerreiro’.
Eduardo Guerrero is the most brilliant flamenco artist of our time, with a vibrant technique and a charismatic presence on stage, from the first second he enthralled everyone who went to the Casino.
The dancer in this show, with the Salão Preto e Prata, completely sold out, tells us, dancing, the art of the war of life, in his day-to-day life, versus love and the choices we often have to make. The artist leaves, for those who don’t know, space for his own vision of history, what each turn, each clap, each cry will mean, and everything that he conveys to us.
In Guerrero’s concept, ‘Battles are won by dancing’.
In choreography and singing, he was accompanied by the strong presence and hoarse voices of Anabel Rivera, Pilar Sierra, and Samara Montañez. The music was in charge of Javier Ibañez, solo, with his flamenco guitar. This instrument is very similar to the classical guitar, but narrower and is used for accompanying flamenco singing and for solos.
It was a magnificent show, worth seeing and listening to, except for the continuous entry into the Spectator Room after the dance had started, which greatly served to distract those who were already there.
