This agreement, extended to all municipalities in the region, aims to promote the implementation of a robust, efficient and extensible electric vehicle charging network throughout the region, as well as to create positive differentiation mechanisms for citizens and visitors who travel in the Algarve in electric vehicles. , providing viable options that encourage visitors to the region to prefer electric vehicles during their stay.
The development of a campaign to promote and raise awareness of sustainable mobility focused on tourism in the Algarve region is also one of the objectives of this agreement, which proposes to actively contribute to the promotion of the use of alternative energies, associating in a very positive way the development from tourism to environmental protection.
The new charging station located in Praça da República allows the simultaneous charging of two electric vehicles. To carry out the charging, the drivers must have an access card to the public access charging stations of the network, which can be requested from the company Mobi.E.
