Elida Almeida presented her fourth album “Di Lonji“ at the Capitol, and perhaps it was one of the best concerts that Lisbon had the opportunity to receive, it had everything, excellent music and musicians, passion, joy, and contagious rhythm, and of course an artist fantastic on stage, a volcano, Cape Verde’s new muse.
The 30-year-old singer and songwriter from the island of Santiago is already a star in Cape Verde and “Di Lonji”, her fourth album, is a tribute to the family and the archipelago that saw her grow up and be born for music.
Of recognized talent, both in terms of writing and interpretation of her themes, she did not leave her credits in the hands of others in her concert in Lisbon, discovered in 2014, by the producer of Cesária Évora, José da Silva, who made her known to the world.
“Di Lonji”, “from far” in creole, according to the artist, intends to symbolize the path she had to travel, going through all the difficulties to get where she is today, the disc represents this persistence, overcoming obstacles.
A woman who knows where she wants to go, strong and powerful, as can be seen on stage, was received by a room completely full of fans, who vibrated with each song, who felt each chord, who expressed the immense joy of hearing her, in the face.
Elida, in addition to the excellent musicians on stage, had the company of Jimmy P in the theme “Mau Menino”, Nitry and Silvia in “Segredus” and Loony in “Dam Pam”, in this which was yet another excellent production by Tumbão – Produção e Promoção de Espetáculos.
