Elvas International Folklore Festival opens on Friday
The International Festival of Folklore of Elvas (Portalegre) opens on Friday and will animate the city light until the 12th of this month, with the participation of groups from various countries, the city today announced.
The Republic Square, in Elvas, will be the stage for the 28th edition of the event, which brings together ten folklore groups, five Portuguese and five foreigners, and whose shows are scheduled for 21:30.
Promoted by the municipality, the festival opens on Friday with the performance of Elvas Folkloric Ranch and Beskid group, Poland.
On Saturday, the Folkloric CDC Ranch of S. Paio de Oleiros (Santa Maria da Feira) and the Folkloric Ballet “Ritmos del Tiempo”, from Peru, will perform.
For Sunday, the participation of the Folkloric Ranch of S. José da Lamarosa (Coruche) and Crea Danza, from Colombia, are scheduled.
On the 11th, the Folkloric Ranchers of Mesquitela (Mangualde) and the Folkloric Ballet “Mitã Rory” of Paraguay will take to the stage.
In closing, on August 12, they perform the Parreira Folkloric Ranch (Chamusca) and the Song and Dance Ensemble “Varenka”, from Russia.
