Empark will invest € 3m by 2022 in electric charging stations in 31 of its parks distributed across 10 municipalities in the country, and it has already opened 33 medium voltage stations (up to 31 amps) in 6 car parks on the Central axis of Lisbon.
The parks that now offer charging stations in the capital are Campolide, Marquês de Pombal, Alexandre Herculano, Saldanha, Valbom and Berna, in an investment approaching € 250 thousand.
“The charging stations now installed occupy premium areas in the car parks, are of universal use and, as required by law, are connected to the Mobi-e network”, explains Paulo Nabais, general director of Empark Portugal.
The general plan foresees to equip, by the end of the first half of 2022, all 31 car parks at a national level, in 9 more counties, Porto, Albufeira, Amadora, Barreiro, Cascais, Fundão, Leiria, Portimão and Vila Nova de Gaia.
“At the moment, work is underway to install 48 more charging stations in 7 new parks that will be made available to the public by the end of July,” anticipates the same official.
The new parks to receive electric charging stations are: Restauradores, Mercado da Ribeira, Av. De Roma, Campo dos Mártires da Pátria, Alves Redol (in Lisbon), Largo da Estação (in Cascais), and Brasília (in Porto).
“We want to offer ‘off-street’ charging points in all parks where energy is available, and both national and foreign, they will know that where the Empark brand is, it is synonymous with availability for all those traveling in vehicles electrical, ”adds the same responsible.
The company has already announced that there is also a similar project underway in Spain.
