England beats the Czech Republic (1-0)
England beat the Czech Republic 1-0, in the last round of Group D of the European Championship. The match was played at Wembley and was directed by Portuguese referee Artur Soares Dias.
In a game marked by English dominance, Sterling (12’) turned out to be the hero by scoring the winning goal after a Grealish cross. Until the end, Jordan Henderson still introduced the ball into the opponent’s goal, but the move was disallowed for irregular position.
With this result, England secured the first place in Group D with seven points. The Czech Republic fell to third place, with the same four points as Croatia, but it is also qualified as one of the best four third placed.
