activities on 14 farms and producers take place between 10 am and 7 pm

On the 2nd of September, between 10 am and 7 pm, the Vinho Verde Region Viticulture Commission (CVRVV) promotes another edition of the “Open Doors Day”, during which 14 members of the Vinho Verde Route prepare programs and activities to receive visitors in various parts of the Region.

From walks in the vineyards to wine tastings, from tourist train rides to picnics in the vineyards, it is possible to choose different itineraries and learn about the harvest and wine production in the various sub-regions. Some farms promote free activities on the “Open Doors Day”, prior registration is recommended for the different participants in www.vinhoverde.pt.

There are several programs aimed at consumers of Vinho Verde that make known the various profiles of wines in the Region and promote direct contact with the producers: A&D Wines – Quinta de Santa Teresa (Baião), Adega de Monção (Monção), Casa da Tojeira (Cabeceiras de Basto), Quinta da Lixa/Monverde Wine Experience Hotel (Amarante), Palácio da Brejoeira (Monção), Quinta da Raza (Celorico de Basto), Quinta de Lourosa (Lousada), Quinta de Santa Cristina (Celorico de Basto) ), Quintas de Melgaço (Melgaço), Quinta de Soalheiro (Melgaço), Quinta de Tamariz (Barcelos), Quinta das Arcas (Valongo), Edmun do Val (Valença do Minho) and Quinta da Aveleda (Penafiel) are the stopping points obligatory on the first Saturday of September.

“Open Doors Day is the moment when, annually, the Vinho Verde Route is shown to the public with activities from several farms simultaneously, proposing varied experiences and activities that allow you to discover more about the producers of the Region. On the first Saturday of September, right on the eve of the hustle and bustle of the harvest, there are programs for families and oenophiles, showing wine tourism as a leisure proposal for different tastes”, emphasizes Dora Simões, President of CVRVV.

The Vinho Verde Route covers 48 municipalities in the Northwest of Portugal, in which Vinho Verde serves as a motto for discovering farms, wineries, restaurants, accommodation units, and tourist entertainment companies that offer various proposals for activities and itineraries, providing cultural experiences associated with the theme of wine.
