One of the most internationally acclaimed plays arrives at Teatro Maria Matos in September. “Art,” by Yasmina Reza, directed by António Pires and performed by Cristóvão Campos, Nuno Lopes, and Rui Melo.
The charity rehearsal takes place on September 9 at Teatro Maria Matos. All proceeds will benefit Associação Aprender em Parceria | A PAR, a non-profit private social welfare organisation (IPSS), whose mission is to create development and learning opportunities for children from birth through close partnerships with parents, caregivers, and education and early childhood professionals.
Synopsis:
A story of friendship that is shaken by something seemingly simple: the purchase of a completely white painting with white stripes, signed by an acclaimed contemporary artist. Sérgio decides to buy the painting. Marco can’t hide his disbelief. Ivo tries, without much success, to be the conciliator. What could have been just a disagreement of tastes quickly turns into a battle of egos, resentments, and hilarious revelations.
