[dropcap type=”background”]T[/dropcap]he “100 Years of Samba Tribute” is a tribute to its history and to its composers and performers. With Daniela Mendes on voice, André Marques da Silva on guitar, João Fião on percussion and Luís Delgado on drums, this quartet aims to recreate the best records of Noel Rosa, Cartola, Dona Ivone Lara or Martinho da Vila, among many others.

The greatest symbol of joy and sadness, of love and pain, of party and struggle, which one feels, sings and dances, but cannot be explained, Samba celebrates 100 years on its first phonographic record, O Telephone.

Samba was born in Bahia, grew up in Rio de Janeiro and contaminated the world with passion and, today, it is celebrated by musicians who, despite not being Brazilian, live in their swing and in their singing. “I wasn’t born in samba, but samba was born in me!
