Awards ceremony of the Gastronomy Contest scheduled for next Sunday
Within the scope of the 20th edition of the Gastronomy Festival of the Municipality of Seixal
The Natal Village of Seixal will be on the stage, on December 15 (Sunday), at 4 pm, for the award ceremony of the Gastronomic Contest integrated into the 20th Gastronomy Festival of the Municipality of Seixal, which runs from November 10 to December 15.
In this initiative, besides the award ceremony, there will be a wine tasting by the Wine Route of the Setúbal Peninsula.
Paulo Silva, president of the Seixal City Hall, explains that «This gastronomy competition aims to promote and disseminate local and regional gastronomy as an important tourist product and differentiating element, as well as dynamizing the local business fabric of restoration, promoting the Seixal brand and stimulating our traditional trade».
The competition had 17 participating restaurants, being one of the highlights of the Gastronomia 2024 Festival, whose program of initiatives is very varied, including a pastry contest and the realization of several workshops and showcooking demonstrations. This is an organization of the municipality of Seixal, in partnership with the Association of Commerce, Industry, Services and Tourism of the District of Setúbal and the Association of Hotel, Restaurant and Similar of Portugal.
Participating restaurants and dishes in the competition:

- – Natural Flavors – wild mushroom curry with grain and spinach
- – Lisboa à Vista – cod curry
- – The Telheiro of the Cross of Wood – cod to Telheiro
- – The Pleasure of Eating – cod fillets with lime risotto
- – Tasca Mau Feitio – confit duck thigh in orange and muscat, potato wedge and stir-fried kale with smoked powder
- – Bar da Sociedade Filarmónica União Arrentelense by Mário Valente – pato na brasa à maestro
- – Association of Round Dwellers – massada de peixe
- – El Pimentõn – squid to Andalusia accompanied by broken eggs with acorn ham
- – Tapas ao Rio – Shrimp Tapas with lemon juice
- – Perceves or Não – Sapateira mass to paiopirense
- – Nu Bitoq – classic bitoq
- – Nu Prego – francesinha pregada
- – Per Mangiare – Sicilian lemon risotto with scallops
- – In Banho Maria II – polvo à alentejana
- – China City – Shrimp Happiness
- – Gonzagalez Bistro – Beef masada
