EPUR Launches “Vincent & Friends”: A New Gastronomic Journey Without Borders

First Edition Takes Place on November 27th with Kazakh Chef Artem Kantsev

EPUR announces the official launch of “Vincent & Friends,” a gastronomic initiative that brings together chefs from diverse backgrounds in the heart of Chiado to create exclusive fine dining menus collaboratively with Chef Vincent Farges.

“Vincent & Friends” stems from the Chef’s and Casa do Marquês’ desire to promote gastronomic encounters that challenge borders and elevate the visitor experience. Each edition will be conceived as a sensory journey, positioning EPUR as a true gateway to other parts of the world through taste.

The premiere of this concept will take place on November 27th, with the presence of Chef Artem Kantsev, head chef of the Qazaq Gourmet restaurant in Astana — distinguished by the “50 Best Discovery” guide. Recognised as an ambassador of Kazakh gastronomy, Kantsev combines new technologies, ancestral traditions, and local products, contributing to a contemporary vision of Kazakh cuisine.

The menu for this special evening will highlight the meeting of two distinct yet complementary culinary universes. Among the offerings are creations such as Sea Bass with Oysters, Halophytes and Caviar, Camel Taylak Kazy with Jerusalem Artichoke and King Crab, as well as desserts that explore ingredients like persimmon, pistachio, and buckwheat.

“This meeting between two chefs who share the same passion for gastronomy allows us to learn about different cultures and traditions from two very distinct countries. This is an opportunity to discover some products from Kazakhstan that we know little about and that are, without a doubt, of excellent quality. Since Kazakhstan is a country with a very “carnivorous” culture, we will discover some exceptional meats unknown in our gastronomic world. Kazakh Caviar, from Kazakhstan and considered one of the best in the world, will be the highlight of this menu,” emphasises Chef Vincent Farges.

With this initiative, other talents are invited to enter the EPUR kitchen and create, side by side with Chef Vincent Farges, experiences that can only arise from the encounter between different gastronomic trajectories. It opens doors to global influences and becomes a stage for dialogue between cultures, techniques, and flavours.

This first edition is organised by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Portugal, with the support of the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in the Northern Regions of Portugal and MPL Culture.
