Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the innovative brand in global cruise travel, announces that the musical “Beetlejuice” will join the animation production aboard its latest and most modern cruise, Norwegian Viva, with a lineup full of great entertainment from August 2023.
The new cruise includes stops in Lisbon in the inaugural season, with a return scheduled for the summer of 2024.
This is the first time that the Tony Award®-nominated musical will feature a performance on the high seas. The 90-minute adaptation of the Broadway show inspired by Tim Burton’s iconic 1988 film tells the story of the Deetz family as they attempt to remodel a haunted house. Paranormal musical adventures will be accentuated by the Viva Theater & Club’s three multi-purpose floors and state-of-the-art special effects, lighting, and audio.

“Beetlejuice” promises to enchant and captivate the guests, while the artists sing and dance to the sound of classics such as “Day-O” and “Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora)” and also bet on the nostalgia of the homonymous film, an icon of the pop culture. Michelle D’Amica, cast member of the Broadway production of “Beetlejuice” will join the Norwegian Viva show playing the role of “Lydia“, in what is her first performance on the high seas.
Norwegian Cruise Line is known for its commitment to bringing high-quality productions to the high seas, having previously debuted shows such as “Six”, “Jersey Boys”, and “Footloose”, among others in its fleet of 18 cruises. This announcement follows the successful debut of “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” aboard Norwegian Prima, which featured a show featuring “American Idol Season 2” finalist Kimberley Locke during the inaugural season. from 2022.
Viva Theater & Club features sophisticated special effects, a multi-video wall, an impressive chandelier, and VIP seating, making it the ideal venue for a night out in the style of Las Vegas’ best nightclubs, such as ” Ocean Music Fest”, the musical session where different musicians join their talents on stage for an immersive world concert.
Norwegian Viva will also feature the return of guest favorite characters, including “Improv @ Sea” Comedy Club; “Syd Norman’s Pour House,” a rock-and-roll tribute to Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, and other legendary artists from the Rock scene.
