ESPORO: cultural and artistic project highlights the natural heritage of the municipalities of Figueiró dos Vinhos, Ansião and Proença-a-Nova

João Louro, Maria Ana Vasco Costa, ±MaisMenos± and Bosoletti are some of the national and international artists who are part of the ESPORO project, which is born from an idea of seed, of disseminating something that spreads through nature and the nature of things. An initiative that promotes the symbiosis between art and the natural territory through artistic interventions that, in a fully integrated way, aims to awaken a new interest and a curious look at the natural heritage.

It is an open access cultural and artistic project that aims to create new perspectives on the territory of the municipalities of Figueiró do Vinhos, Ansião and Proença-a-Nova and the development of routes in natural or heritage areas.

Inspired by the perpetual movement of people and their action in geography, which incorporates implicit characteristics of a territory that resists, of a landscape that influences the people and people that influence the landscape, in a symbiosis of generations, ESPORO proposes to develop the connecting audiences to places of admirable natural beauty that will be revealed through new artistic perspectives.

The Fragas de S. Simão, the place of Campelo, Cabeço do Peão and Foz de Alge in Figueiró dos Vinhos, the Municipal Forest, the Moinhos do Outeiro, the ruins of the Torre da Ladeia and the Mancha de Carvalho Cerquinho in Ansião and the Cabeço dos Três Marcos, Ribeira do Vale D´Água, Padrão and the Corgas Viewpoint in Proença-a-Nova, are the admirable places to which we intend to give a new identity and which will be transformed into affective places and held by new eyes and visitors. on a new visitation route.

In conjunction with actions of mediation, training and the involvement of communities and popular culture, ESPORO proposes to create a dialogue for the construction of a tourist-cultural project in which the art/artistic installation in a space of nature is the lever for the discovery of new identities.

ESPORO has already started with an intensive photographic mapping of the territories by nature photographer Rui Gaiola. The images collected will serve as a basis for the communication of the entire project and will give rise to a photographic exhibition integrated in the program of the initiative.

It is also planned to include the production of a film/documentary by the director Mariana Vasconcelos and the edition of a book that will record and show all the steps taken until the realization of the various artistic interventions that will result in the inauguration of ROTA ESPORO.

Scheduled for July 2022, this will be the moment when all audiences will be invited to discover each of the site specific works, guided in an immersive, performative and sound experience, by the talents of Valter Lobo, João Barradas, Bia Maria, Sérgio Carolino, Homem em Catarse, among others.
