The 2025 Lisbon Grand March competition is now open

Open to all residents of Portugal and adults, individually or collectively, this competition has been a tradition for over two decades, annually distinguishing the literary and musical originality of the authors of the winning composition with a prize worth €5,500 (five thousand five hundred reais).

Candidates, according to the conditions of participation in the competition, may submit more than one essay. The lyrics must be in Portuguese and must not contain advertising references, while the music must have a maximum duration of four minutes.

The Soul of Lisbon is the chosen theme of this initiative by the Lisbon City Council and EGEAC, which annually chooses the composition that will be presented and performed by all the Popular Marches in June during the Lisbon Festivities.
