Book Station takes place, in Seixal, from the 20th to the 30th of November
The Estação do Livro initiative takes place in schools in the municipality of Seixal, between the 20th and 30th of November, seeking to cover the various levels of education.
The actions are promoted by the Educational Service of the Municipal Library of Seixal, in partnership with the Municipality’s School Libraries Network, as well as by external animators who have, in their CV, extensive experience with the school public. In the various sessions planned, a set of recreational-pedagogical, educational and cultural proposals will be presented, under the theme: «Sowing Readings for a Sustainable Future.»
Paulo Silva, president of Seixal City Council, states that «Estação do Livro highlights the role of school libraries in the training of students, as a space for culture and learning accessible to all and not a simple depository of books. The municipality is very committed to continuing this project, supporting the planned initiatives and showing itself available to welcome innovative ideas that can bring added value».
Estação do Livro, which continues to promote a taste for books and reading among younger generations, presents a diverse program with storytelling hours, drawing and creative writing workshops, artistic performances and even spaces for reflection where topics such as human rights or the use of artificial intelligence will be addressed.
