The General Category SME Heroes now includes the selection of 3 big winners by subcategories – Micro, Small and Medium-sized Companies.
Applications are now open for the 6th edition of the PME Heroes Awards, an initiative developed by Yunit Consulting, the Portuguese consultancy whose purpose is to make SMEs Big.
The project aims to reward the SMEs that stood out the most in different categories, celebrating them as examples of entrepreneurship and a force that generates wealth. It highlights their good practices and resilience even in the most adverse contexts, gives them visibility and recognizes their crucial role in the national economy.
The big news of the 6th edition concerns the General SME Heroes category, which now has 3 winners per subcategory – Micro, Small and Medium-sized companies. The remaining categories remain the same as in the last edition: Factor S (Sustainability), Digital Transformation, Internationalization and Startup Revelation.
Applications, free of charge, are open until March 10, 2024, and can be made on the website www.heroispme.pt. The finalists will be announced at the end of May and the big winners will be announced at the awards ceremony scheduled for June 27th.
This new edition has as ambassadors: Cláudia Mendes da Silva, Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Office PM at Siemens, Luis Alves Monteiro, President of AAOP, Luís Teodoro, Administrator of SoftFinança SA, Pedro Janela, CEO of WYgroup, and Tim Vieira, CEO of Brave Generation Academy.
Bernardo Maciel, CEO of Yunit Consulting, states: “After the numbers achieved in the last edition, in which we broke the record with more than 100 registrations, with the Sustainability category being the one that grew the most, our expectations point to a similar panorama this year. The PME Heroes Awards have played an important role in valuing small and medium-sized Portuguese companies, praising their courage and dedication. It is with satisfaction and pride that we work with each new edition, to reward and encourage the continuity of their strategies and their impact on the innovation ecosystem in which they operate. We are deeply inspired by their stories.”
The 6th edition of PME Heroes has the support of VICTORIA Seguros, SAGE, PRA – Raposo, Sá Miranda & Associados, Action Coach, Reorganiza, Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Startup Portugal and the Association of Professional Olympic Athletes.
Launched in 2016, the Heróis SME initiative has already received more than 600 applications and has distinguished 61 companies representing a turnover of around 540 million euros, more than 5,400 employees and a net profit of 50 million euros.
