This Christmas, Help in Action calls for continuing to offer an OPPORTUNITY to those who need it most
“In every opportunity, you are” returns as the motto of this year’s Christmas campaign of Ajuda em Ação which calls for all Portuguese to offer a gift opportunity to those who, due to their context of social vulnerability, never reached it. All donations are returned to support the Foundation’s Education, Youth Employability and Women’s Entrepreneurship programs.
Ajuda em Ação returns with its Christmas campaign “In every opportunity, you are”, which results in a true mission for all Portuguese: until the end of the year return the opportunity that was given to them and offer it to those who need it most. “A donation may result in the purchase of more fabrics for our sewing program, which will give rise to unique pieces produced by the women who are part of the project, being then sold by them to bring them more income, or to continue implementing programs such as ‘Bora Jovens, which has already integrated more than 200 young people into the labour market, or as ‘My School is Cool’ that improved the school performance of many children since it began”, explains Linda Morango, Marketing and Fundraising Director of Ajuda em Ação Portugal.
The Foundation develops a program of Youth Employability that extends throughout the national territory, and in the area of Loures, Camarate, it acts more at the level of Education – an area of intervention that also covers the area of Portalegre – and Female Entrepreneurship. Ajuda em Ação currently supports more than 2,000 people, but now seeks support at the level of financing companies and also private donations to reach many more and ensure that such basic rights as the right to education and decent work are not put in jeopardy, Especially when the next year is quite complex in economic terms. “The results that Aid in Action has achieved with its programs, encourage us to continue in the mission of fighting for a better and fairer world for all. We hope that this Christmas campaign will reach everyone and remind them that a small gesture can represent a great opportunity for people from more vulnerable contexts”, says Linda Morango.
Over 2024 the Foundation also launched “Green Future in Action”, a program to revitalize communities and ecosystems in the interior regions of Portugal that seeks to empower young residents in the municipalities of Sardoal, Mação, Tomar and Abrantes to become agents of change with environmental and social impact in their community. In 2025, the project will start with its 2nd edition and will be extended to Castanheira de Pera and Figueiró dos Vinhos.
