Eurocity Tui Valença Conquers Pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela
Eurocity Tui.Valença is now the second starting point for all pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela.
Between January and July, around 21,000 pilgrims left this Eurocity for Santiago de Compostela, reinforcing the second position in the ranking of origin of pilgrimages after Sarria (Galicia) with 58,375 pilgrims. In third place comes Porto with 15698.
The Portuguese Way (Central), this year, consolidates its position as the second most used route. Caminho da Costa is in third place. Very positive numbers on these two routes that enter Galicia via the Tui.Valença Eurocity, crossing the Centenary International Bridge.

Eurocity Tui.Valença is the gateway to the Portuguese Way to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. A route where pilgrims from the Central Portuguese Way, the Caminho das Torres and the Caminho da Costa converge.
Valença provides a unique experience for pilgrims: halfway across the international bridge, in the middle of the Way, it is possible to be with one foot in Portugal and the other in Spain, over the river Minho, with the Cathedral of Tui on one side and the Fortress of Valença on the other.
