EVAYA, one of the most curious and promising names in emerging music in Portugal, announces the first concerts to showcase its debut album, taking place in Lisbon, Barreiro, Funchal and Leiria.
The artist recently released her new single “o que caso agora”, which anticipates her debut album scheduled for April 5th. The first performance as part of this launch takes place at B.Leza, a mythical concert hall in the heart of Lisbon’s nightlife.
On stage at the B.Leza concert in Lisbon, EVAYA performs in a trio formation, accompanied by NICØ on modular synthesizer and Polivalente on drum machine and guitar. The artist’s voice oscillates between a fragile and sweet intimacy, and the power of greater projection, sometimes more processed, sometimes more raw and devoid of effects. EVAYA promises an ethereal performance, punctuated by pulsating beats and textures of nature. In an experience that promises to transport the audience to a different but dreamlike and immersive sound universe.
He will soon perform at Impulso on the opening night of the festival in 2024. The night of March 22nd will open with a concert that opens the program of the cultural event in Caldas da Rainha.
About the single “what happens now”:
In “what happens now”, the inspiration behind the song lies in the theme of duality, exploring the delay in emotional healing and how much we have to transform ourselves to reach other stages in life and achieve goals. A lyric that addresses the anxiety of wanting quick results, contrasting with the understanding that everything happens at the right time. It is a reflection on initial dissatisfaction that evolves into acceptance and maturity.
EVAYA tells us that “the verse ‘I slept between several worlds but I woke up early I woke up in time’ highlights the coexistence of different phases of life. ‘I have time yes I have time no’ I am talking to myself about the importance of not blaming myself for time necessary to achieve my goals, concluding with the statement ‘I know that nothing happens before the right time'”.

About EVAYA
EVAYA is a Portuguese producer, composer, lyricist and singer, born in Poceirão.
In 2019 he graduated from ETIC in Lisbon in Music Production and Creation, a two-year training that culminated in a professional internship in Berlin – an experience that was interrupted by the pandemic, but the return home and the break imposed by the pandemic context were worth it- gives her her first EP “INTENAÇÃO” – produced and recorded by the artist during the first confinement between Poceirão and Lisbon and published independently in October 2020.
Her single “docelinguala” is part of the FNAC Novos Talentos21 compilation. Currently, she already has several live performances, namely in some cultural spaces on the Lisbon scene; she was a finalist at the Termómetro Festival in the edition that ended in May 2022; She also performed at other important festivals in the music scene in Portugal such as Festival ID no limits, Nos Alive, MIL. In November 2022 she participated in Gerador’s National Exhibition of Young Creators with the single “attention”. In 2023 she was part of the showcase lineup at the Tallinn Music Week Festivals in Estonia, Westway lab in Guimarães, and Emergente num Musicbox (crowded) in Lisbon.

EVAYA’s live format proposes an ethereal immersion of the proposed concepts, through noisy instrumentals, heavy machinery and a more performative delivery of the voice-music relationship, which highlights the weaknesses and strengths of sharing the message with the public.
