After two first singles that won over the public with messages of resistance, introspection and affirmation, LIBRA releases today her long-awaited debut album, EVERYONE’S FIRST BREATH, accompanied by the third single, “PURITY”.
With this work, the rapper, singer and songwriter definitively affirms her artistic identity, positioning herself in the Conscious Rap universe with a deep, personal and transformative record.
EVERYONE’S FIRST BREATH brings together 13 tracks and emerges as a manifesto about the experience of being a woman, giving voice to the anger, honour, pain and resilience so often silenced. On this album, LIBRA comes out as a rapper for the first time, in an environment traditionally dominated by men, making the album not only an artistic statement but also an act of resistance. “This space is mine too”, she seems to say, in each verse, in each beat, with an urgency that runs through the entire album.
With sounds that mix conscious rap, soul and R&B, the album starts from pain to find healing, both individual and collective. It is a work that reflects on the way society relates to femininity and the multiple normalised violence that permeates it, proposing a language of denunciation, but also of reconstruction.
The album’s title is inspired by a verse from the new track “PURITY”, released today with the album: “So many times I wonder, if we only came to suffer / Cause it takes a woman’s pain, for everyone’s first breath”.
“PURITY” is, therefore, a new chapter in LIBRA’s narrative, where vulnerability turns into power. Throughout the track, the artist rescues the idea of purity not as an imposed value, but as a process of reconnecting with one’s own essence. The song, wrapped in minimalist and introspective production, reinforces the confessional tone that marks the entire album.
With EVERYONE’S FIRST BREATH, LIBRA completes the cycle that began with “SPELLS” (January 31), a track that paved the way with verses of combat and affirmation, and with “USE YOUR PAIN WISELY” (March 21), an intimate portrait of overcoming. Now, in “PURITY”, the artist deepens her message with an even more mature lyrical and aesthetic approach.
Throughout her career, LIBRA has challenged genres and stereotypes, building a unique musical and performance language that moves between music and sociopolitical reflection. Her music is, at the same time, a mirror and a cry — a reflection of those who insist on being heard, and who now give their first loud and deep cry.
