It was 30 minutes after the first half when Braga started to react to the Benfiquista dominion and ended up taking a ball to Vlachodimos’ post after 32 minutes, but the throw was invalidated out of play.
At 42 minutes it was Benfica, for Vinicius to be close to scoring, after an excellent pass from Ferro to Pizzi, who immediately crossed to the area with a Brazilian heading over the bar.
Then came the goal from Braga, following a free-kick Sequeira hits the area, Raul Silva in effort passes to Fransérgio who shoots for Vlachodimos’ great defence outside.
Following the corner by Sequeira, Palhinha anticipates Ferro and scores a goal and places the Bracarense team in front of the marker.
The second half starts with Benfica trying to reach the goal, which they had almost to achieve for Carlos Vinícius, in the first minutes, but he shot to the post.
Braga did not stop attacking and was also close to scoring the second, but Fransérgio’s good shot was thwarted by a good Vlachodimos defence, with Trincão shooting over the rebound.
Pizzi followed on 68 minutes, after an excellent move, passed by two Braga players but the shot ended with a defence by Matheus. Even before finishing Vinícius centred in the area and Raúl Silva deflected towards the goal but Matheus avoids the goal with great defence.
But it was Braga’s last chance of the game in the 76th minute, at a cross from Trincão, with Ricardo Horta in the Benfica area shooting for an excellent defence by Vlachodimos.
Benfica is thus only one point ahead of the FCP that today beat Guimarães 2-1, relaunching the championship, which two weeks ago seemed to be handed over to the national champions.
