Until the 21st of November, an exhibition of figures of Santo António, by the collector Alexandre Correia, is on display at the Boneco Interpretive Center in Estremoz.
The Interpretive Center for the Valorization and Safeguarding of the Boneco de Estremoz has a room for temporary exhibitions related to the theme of the space. For the first exhibition, Alexandre Correia, a collector of figures of Santo António, was invited to exhibit, in this place, a set of pieces modeled by the trainees who attended the 1st Course on Production Techniques for Dolls of Estremoz, promoted by Cearte, in partnership with the Municipality of Estremoz.
After the end of the course, the Collector, driven by his love for the figure of Estremoz and as a way to encourage trainees to start producing pieces, ordered each of them the first Santo António that each one would model. It is from this challenge that this group of figures emerges that make up the exhibition “Santo António, a Love Story for the safeguarding of the Estremoz Doll“.
Both the exhibition and the Interpretative Center can be visited, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, with free admission until the end of October 2021.
