Exhibition “WC Pato: Rouba corta e cola” of 40 thieves

The anonymous exhibition that intends to des/re/build the "Mainstream"

The WC Pato: Rouba Cut and Glue is a set of works that uses ephemeral materials to create subversive narratives and impactful visuals, questioning the culture of consumption and waste, turning waste into luxury.

It is unknown whether 40 Thieves is a single author or a collective, adding an extra layer of fascination to his work, in a world where no longer mysteries. It is known that he participated in an issue of Pentangulo Magazine, in the Portuguese edition of Le Monde Diplomatique and that Zine Mesa de Cabeceira compiled, in 2022, several of his works under the title Smash The Control Images. As part of the Storytellers project, they were exhibited in QR code format, BD s about truth and lies, at Parque Silva Porto, in Benfica, until September 20.

With a pleasure in challenging the limits of copyright, 40 Thieves invites the public to reflect on authorship and originality in the modern era.

The exhibition opens on July 4, in the former toilet of Jardim Camilo Castelo Branco, and will be open until July 25.

The entrance is free.
